Last week I started an art challenge thanks to a dear friend to make 10 pieces of art in 7 days. Little did I know that this challenge would unlock something that had been sleeping deep inside of me. The last several years have been hard, I have lost some friends and learned the quality of character in others. But still, I had to carry on. To be strong, resilient, and steady when things around me exploded. But in that chaos, other things flourished. I made deeper relationships, new friends, new place, new job, new everything.

But still, that part of me slept. Only peeking out in burst of creativity before retreating again. These last 7 days have brought me closer to myself. Some of these pieces are silly (looking at you, horse) most are deeply personal, some are just for me and not shown. I’m uncomfortable sharing things that aren’t cute or make people happy. But I think theres an interesting artistic expression that lives on the edge of uncomfortable.
